Introduction
The How are they faring? online report card is South Australia’s report of population-level outcomes for children and young people from birth to 18 years under South Australia’s Outcomes Framework for Children and Young People. The report is a comprehensive, independent assessment of the lives and wellbeing of our youngest citizens using the Framework’s five dimensions: Health, Safety, Wellbeing, Education and Preparing for adulthood. Evidence-based, it brings together the best currently and publicly available data to provide a multi-dimensional overview of the circumstances of young South Australians.
The outcomes measured in the online report card originated in South Australia’s Outcomes Framework for Children and Young People. The framework selected population-based measures that enable longitudinal tracking and reporting of trends, that can provide all levels of government and service providers with evidence for informed decisions about policy and collaborative action. The South Australia’s Outcomes Framework for Children and Young People is currently only available as a stand-alone PDF document.
The online report card is complemented by a comprehensive Data and Technical Report, offering detailed technical specifications for the measures outlined in the Outcomes Framework. Additionally, it serves as a comprehensive guide for understanding and interpreting the report. The Data and Technical Report is currently only available as a stand-alone PDF document.
